Doodles

As I haven't finalized any of my drawings last year I might as well at least put up some of my doodles during work

A couple days off work totally not wasted

NEW Layout Showreel

Its been such a busy time in the last year I barely even had time to draw for myself,
but all I've got to show for it is this short snippet of The Adventure of Abney and Teal where I have worked as a Layout and Key Frame animator.

Fanart

Its been a little while but I've been inspired to draw some fanart. This weekend I went to a comic convention. I didn't dress up but I wanted to draw some of my favourite characters here at least. Fun fact: I am saving up for a Wacom to finally colour my drawings.

I started out reading the Scott Pilgrim comics in 2007. I just love the art

I would like to take this opportunity to plug the Doctor Who Experience opening in London 2012. Which Sarner has designed and thanks to my boyfriend; has made me a big fan of the Doctor.

My Valentines card given to my boyfriend this year.

Ariel should be everyone's favourite Disney Character

Early Early Animation Tests

Some very early animation tests including my first 3D model. I thought I ought to put them up somewhere if they hadn't made the cut of my showreel.
video
You may notice I lipsynced without any actual moving lips, the lesson here was to express as much as I could with just the head and body. Think: Marvin the Martian

Missing the guys at Escape

I was just thinking about the people at Escape and couldn't help but think about the funny little things my tutors used to do whilst in class.

3D Animation Course

My course it at an end and here is my new showreel.
The showreel are most of the exercises I did during the 6 weeks and I was tutored by Alex Williams who is just pure genius!
I also posted up here some of my gesture drawing and thumbnailing which I did as part of the lesson (more as a remainder to myself to plan out my actions).

Dalek Models

Spent a couple days texturing. Although some may notice that one version out of the two is the more stupid one.

Escape Studios

Now taking the time to train in 3D at Escape Studios. The first 6 weeks takes doing a Maya Core course and the following 6 weeks concerntraiting in animation.
Presently in my final week of Maya Core and here are images of my first independantly made model. this made after 4 or 5 weeks into learning Maya, I can't help but feel very happy with this, but not without thanks to an excellent tutor Gideon Corby. (Big fan of his Look Around You work).

Crystal Chronicles Nostalgia

I was put in mind of being back at uni whilst recently listening to the soundtrack of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.
Friends adventuring to gather up drops of myrrh and squinting at dully lit Game Boy Advance screens. (I shall have to colour this in future)

For Reconstructing Comics...

A contribution I did for Recontructing Comics. This is just a cut sample of the whole comic. I don't want to explain it. Don't ask. Just read the blerg on the site...

Dinamo Productions: Fun With Claude, 2009

Here are a few panels for a pre school series called 'Fun With Claude', produced by Dinamo for Red and Blueand Dot to Dot Productions.
Whilst all of my previous storyboards were drawn in pencil, these were done digitally.

Dinamo Productions: Tellytales, 2009

These are some of my work I have done for Dinamo. It is a series called Tellytales and it concists of 25 10 minute programmes aired on Cbeebies, produced by Dinamo and BBC Wales.
What I've put on here are storyboards from the episodes 'The Wonderful Fruit Tree', 'The Baby Bunyip' and I've also put up some storyboard to final film comparison shots.

Thumbnail Sketches

Some thumnail sketches I did for my character animation, which you can also see animated in my showreel.

Storyboard Competition, 2008

Here are some pages for my entry for a storyboard competition for the Bristol School of Animation. The theme was 'insect repellant' and this is what I came up with...
